Rajnigandha Plant: How I Grow and Care for This Fragrant Flower

The Rajnigandha plant, also known as Tuberose, is one of my favourite flowering plants because of its beautiful white flowers and incredibly sweet fragrance. I find it especially rewarding to grow because the flowers can brighten up a garden while filling the surroundings with a pleasant aroma.

I usually grow my Rajnigandha plant in a sunny location where it can receive around 6–8 hours of sunlight every day. Good sunlight encourages healthy growth and helps the plant produce more flowers. I prefer using well-draining soil because Rajnigandha does not perform well when its roots remain constantly wet. One of the most important things I have learned about Rajnigandha plant care is to avoid overwatering.

I water the plant when the top layer of soil feels slightly dry, while making sure excess water can drain away easily. During the active growing season, I also provide a balanced fertilizer to support healthy leaves and flowering. The Rajnigandha plant grows from bulbs and produces long, narrow green leaves. When it reaches maturity, tall flower spikes emerge, carrying clusters of fragrant white flowers.

I particularly enjoy growing it near outdoor seating areas because its fragrance becomes more noticeable in the evening. For me, Rajnigandha is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a low-maintenance flowering plant with a strong fragrance.

With plenty of sunlight, well-drained soil, regular but controlled watering, and occasional feeding, I find that this beautiful plant can thrive and reward me with fragrant blooms throughout its flowering season.
